Carbon Reduction Plan
Medico Partners Limited
Medico Partners Limited is committed to reducing the environmental impact of its operations and supporting the move towards a lower carbon economy. As a recruitment business, we recognise that our main areas of impact come from office activity, travel, commuting and purchased goods and services. This plan sets out our baseline position, our current reporting year position, and the practical steps we are taking to reduce emissions over time.
Our approach is intended to be proportionate to the size and nature of the business. We want the plan to be realistic, maintainable and capable of being reviewed and updated as the business develops.
Commitment to Net Zero
Medico Partners Limited is committed to achieving Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.
Scope of this plan
This Carbon Reduction Plan has been prepared using the GHG Protocol Corporate Standard and the operational control approach. This means we report emissions from activities where we have authority to introduce and implement operating policies.
We report emissions across Scope 1, Scope 2 and relevant Scope 3 categories linked to our operations, including business travel, employee commuting, waste and purchased goods and services. We use the UK Government greenhouse gas conversion factors for company reporting to convert activity data into carbon dioxide equivalent emissions.
Baseline year
Our baseline year is 2022/23. This remains the reference year against which future reductions will be measured.
Baseline emissions footprint
Scope | Source | Emissions (tCO2e) |

Current emissions reporting
Current reporting year: 2024/25
At the time of this update, Medico Partners Limited is continuing to review and refine the quality and coverage of its emissions data for the current reporting year. Where updated verified figures are available, these will be added to this plan and published in due course.
In the meantime, the 2022/23 baseline remains the formal reference point for this plan, and reduction activity continues to focus on the main operational areas identified in that baseline.
Carbon reduction approach
As a smaller organisation, our focus is on practical measures that can be maintained over time. We aim to reduce avoidable emissions first, improve how we work, and keep the plan under regular review rather than setting unrealistic commitments that do not reflect the scale of the business.
- Digital first working: We will continue to use digital communication, document handling and remote recruitment activity where suitable in order to reduce unnecessary printing, postage and paper use.
- Smarter business travel: We will continue to review business travel and reduce non-essential journeys where remote meetings or digital processes are appropriate. Where travel is necessary, we will aim to plan it efficiently.
- Reviewing employee commuting impact: Employee commuting is one of the larger areas in our baseline. We will continue to support flexible and practical working arrangements where operationally possible to reduce unnecessary commuting emissions.
- Office and equipment efficiency: When replacing office equipment, we will give reasonable preference to energy-efficient devices where practical and proportionate. We will also encourage day to day energy awareness across the business.
- Responsible purchasing: We will take a more considered approach to purchasing by favouring digital services, reducing waste and giving reasonable consideration to environmental factors when choosing suppliers or business services, where practical for a business of our size.
- Ongoing monitoring: We will continue to review our emissions data, monitor the main areas of impact and update this plan as our reporting improves.
Carbon reduction targets
Our immediate focus is on maintaining a practical year-on-year reduction approach rather than setting aggressive short-term targets that may not reflect the scale or operating model of the business.
- maintain active monitoring of our main emission sources
- reduce avoidable emissions where practical
- keep this plan under review
- support the longer term objective of reaching Net Zero by 2050
As our data quality improves, we intend to introduce more detailed milestone targets that are appropriate to the size and structure of the business.
Governance and responsibility
Responsibility for this plan sits at company level, with oversight from the leadership team. Carbon reduction actions will be reviewed as part of operational and business planning activity, and the plan will be updated periodically to reflect material changes in the business or emissions profile.
